The National Primate Research Centers (the “NPRCs” or “we” or “us”) collectively operate this website (https://nprcresearch.org, the “Site”) to provide information about our mission and vision, our research, and related industry news. • Tulane National Primate Research Center
  • Washington National Primate Research Center
  • Wisconsin National Primate Research Center
  • Emory National Primate Research Center

If you contact an NPRC directly or visit a website operated by one of the NPRCs, then the privacy policy of that NPRC will apply.

Information We Collect

When you access or contact us through the Site, we will collect your Personal Information. “Personal Information” means any information that can reasonably be used to identify or locate you, such as your name, email address, address, telephone number, IP address, and device ID. We may collect your Personal Information through your direct interactions with us, through our use of tracking technologies (such as cookies and web beacons).

When you use the Site, we may also collect information about your use of the Site that is not personally identifiable. This information may include aggregated information about traffic and activity on the website, such as pages clicked, pages viewed, and browser types. We collect this non-personally identifiable information through our use of tracking technologies.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We may use your Personal Information in the following ways:

  • Respond to your inquiries and requests;
  • Improve the Site and our content by, for example, incorporating any feedback you provide;
  • The purpose(s) for which we collected it, which will depend on the context in which you gave us your Personal Information.

When We Share Your Personal Information

We will share your Personal information among the NPRCs for each NPRC’s own internal use (as described above and in each of the NPRC’s own privacy policies). In addition, we may share your Personal Information:

  • With our service providers that help us run and manage our business, such as technology service and analytics providers;
  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or respond to a government request;
  • When we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and the rights of others, including to enforce our policies;
  • In the event the NPRC is involved in a merger, transfer, acquisition, sale, or other reorganization.

We do not share your Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We may share any aggregated or other non-personally identifiable information with third parties for all lawful purposes.

Access and Modify your Personal Information

You may access or modify any Personal Information we maintain about you by emailing us at support@nhprc.org. We will respond to your inquiry within a reasonable timeframe.

Opt Out of Marketing

We do not send marketing emails.

If you receive marketing emails from NPRC.org or a specific NPRC research center, you must unsubscribe from that research center’s marketing emails.

Data Collection Technologies

We may use cookies, web beacons, and other data collection technologies to help us understand our visitors and improve our Site and the services we offer. “Cookies” are small, often encrypted text files that contain small amounts of information that are stored on your computer or your mobile device’s browser directory. Cookies help us track us behavior so we can tailor information to make your visits more informative, enjoyable and meaningful. For example, we use Google Analytics to collect information about how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit when they do, and what other websites they used prior to coming to this Site. For more information about Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics, please see the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can block cookies by setting the preferences available in your browser. If you block cookies, you may not be able to access certain areas or functionality of the Site. To find more information about cookies, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers have “Do Not Track” or similar features that allow you to tell each website you visit that you do not want your activities on that website tracked. At present, the Site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals and consequently, the Site will continue to collect information about you even if your browser’s “Do Not Track” feature is activated.

Protecting your Personal Information is important to us. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be 100% secure. As a result, while we are committed to protecting your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of the Personal Information you transmit to us through the Site.

Note to International Visitors

The Personal Information we collect about you on the Site is stored on servers located in the United States. The laws of the United States may differ from the laws in your home country. By using this Site, you understand that we will process your Personal Information in the United States, consistent with this Policy and in accordance with U.S. laws.

Children’s Privacy

This Site is not intended for or directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information directly from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will immediately delete such information.

Third Party Links and Websites

The Site may contain links to other websites that are neither owned nor operated, whether individually or jointly, by the NPRCs. Such third-party websites may include collaborative organizations, national organizations, news media and other third parties. The NPRCs are not individually or jointly responsible for the information practices or the content of these third-party websites.

Each NPRC is also not individually or jointly responsible for the information practices or the content of the websites of the other NPRCs. Each NPRC independently operates its own website, and that NPRC is responsibility for the information practices of its website.

Changes to this Policy

We may need to update this Policy to reflect changes in the law or our information practices. We will notify you in advance of any material updates to this Policy by providing notice on the Site. Any new Policy will replace all old versions of the Policy.
